Palin interview, cont.
I'm watching the rest of the interview now. It's mind-boggling. It's like Miss South Carolina for God's sake.
Where to begin. She'd find "efficiencies" in every department to cut the budget. But not veterans. (I guess the VA runs at 100% efficiency. News to me.) She doesn't like bureaucrats. They're just "goin with the status quo," gettin' comfterbull. There must be lots of smart people in government thinking to themselves right now, "there is no f***ing way this woman is going to be my boss."
She doesn't have any "allegiances" to power brokers and special interests. Does she have any constructive relationships with anyone in Washington? Gettting stuff done requires partnerships, collaboration, even that dreaded word, compromise. Not knowing a single person in town until two months ago is not an asset.
Charles Gibson continues to impress me. He basically states Obama's tax policy accurately and calls Palin out for lying about it. (She answers the question by criticizing his legislative record.)
Bottom line: Sarah Palin is ignorant and provincial, and absolutely unqualified - no, ridiculously, insanely unqualified - to hold the second most powerful office in the government of a global superpower. The fact that McCain is getting a boost in the polls from having her on the ticket truly disturbs me.
