Progress Report

I have not had time to watch the Petraeus-Crocker hearings live, so I thank S.M. for forwarding me this TMPtv compilation. If you haven't already seen the hearings, watch this.


It's really amazing. The country will be bankrupt and Petraeus and Crocker will still sit there and tell us they're waiting for the right conditions to withdraw.
We need to break out of this absurd notion that withdrawing will be a defeat. If there are no criteria for victory, how can there be criteria for defeat? The U.S. military will withdraw, Iraq's government will adapt, Iraq will go on as Iraq goes on. The purpose of keeping the U.S. military in Iraq disappeared years ago.
