McCain: Obama "absolutely" qualified
WP:
Or, has his campaign decided that replaying Rev. Wright tapes for the next seven months would be McCain's only chance of winning, so they're playing up Obama's experience to help him beat Clinton?
I'm going to say it's probably the latter...but in that case, they're making the same huge mistake of underestimating Obama that Clinton made.
Sen. John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee for president, said Sunday that the leader for the Democratic nomination, Sen. Barack Obama, would be "absolutely" qualified to be president, should the voters elect him. But, he said, "I believe that my talent and my background and my experience, which has led to my judgment, ... qualifies me more."I'm not sure what to make of this. Conventional wisdom had it that Hillary's strongest argument against Obama was her supposed experience relative to his supposed lack thereof. With McCain there actually is such a difference; so why squander that one card? If he's trying to make this a mature campaign about issues, I commend him; but he doesn't have a chance of winning that race.
